A Village with a Playground
How fun it would be to live in a village with playground playsets? Ours don’t have one so my daughters are really excited every time we tell them that soon we’ll transfer to a village with a specific place made especially for them. I don’t know what has gotten into the developers of our village: no church, no playground, no clubhouse. It’s just so pathetic and greedy in my own opinion because the lots intended for these must-haves were converted into residential lots!
Talking about greed. Ugh.
I am a baker, not a musician
I am not artistic, in the real sense of the word. So when it comes to music talk, I give the floor to the my husband and daughter — they are both music lovers in their own right and I am so proud of them. My husband has natural talent and so is my daughter. I just don’t have the resources right now to send her to a good music school because it’s quite expensive.
She’s thinking about enrolling in piano or violin, and she told me that the teacher is one big factor. She’s fine with either or both but the teacher has to be nice. I don’t really mind if she’s interested in piano, violin or both. My worry now is how we could afford a good piano like Kurzweil digital pianos? The instruments are quite expensive
A career in floral arrangment
And I say, “why not?”
A month ago, during the wake of my dearest grandfather, one of the flower wreaths shattered and we didn’t have any choice but to fix it – and I did it by myself.
It was the lousiest floral arrangement every in my own honest opinion but I am not closing my doors. I am still open to the idea of channeling to this career in the future.
But of course, there would be a need to study various kinds of flowers, their life span, color mixes, etc.
What To Do in Abuyog, Leyte: Go Swimming in AFCCO Beach Resort
I grew up thinking that the word “swimming” is correlated to the beach. Why not? Back then people in Abuyog, Leyte only has the beach to go to for events. But after two-decades, there are now other places where people can go to swim! There’s Bagalongon, where people can enjoy natural waters from nearby falls. I just do not know if there are marmots in the mountains but when I went there when I was in highschool, the place was still under-developed and for sure the natural habitat of most of the mountain species were still untouched. Right now, Bagalongon has become a destination whenever people from Abuyog or nearby towns wants to chill, figuratively and literally.
Then there’s AFCCO.
I have heard about it some months ago though in those times that I went home, I always forget about visiting the place. Then yesterday, our family decided to give it a try. And because it was a weekend after a huge flood, people were busy cleaning their houses – leaving the whole place for us and to us alone weeeeee!
The place was very clean and entrance fees are fairly cheap, too! From 8am to 5am, we only paid about…
Time for a Body Scrub and I am looking for a sponsor :p
Like most moms living on a very tight budget, going to a spa is already a luxury. How I wish I am still in an era where body scrubs and hair spas were n0t yet commercialized. When you can still go to the nearby river to have natural body scrubs or ask your neighbor for a free gugu hair wash and dead sea salts body scrub.
But hey, gone are those days. Now, one has to pay a hefty amount for these services. A simple body scrub costs one about P700 pesos, more if you avail of the spa’s other services, so how can a mom like me who lives in frugality avail these without hurting the family’s budget?
I am praying for contests or free spa services in exchange for a review
Thank you in advance!
She was asked to be Gretl…
and she declined.
How sad is that? But really, she actually declined her Teacher’s invitation to let her be Gretl in the Sound of Music school play. I hate the fact that my daughter turned down this offer because she can sing, she has a pretty face and she’s so perfect to be Gretl Vonn Trap. And hey, it wasn’t just a simple school play, it was held in Aliw Theatre for Christ’s sake.
But oh well, another opportunity down the drain. But who knows? In time she’ll come out of her shell and eventually use the gift God has given her. By that time I would really invest on good audio gadgets like mbox 2 pro.
Buying Foams and Mattresses Directly from Uratex
My mom would always tell me to buy foams directly from the supplier whenever the need to buy one arises. “It’s cheaper and you can choose from various thickness and foam types”, she would always say. Oh well, it’s true.
The most trusted brand when it comes to foams and mattresses is Uratex, they are priced right and they have stores in almost every town. We get ours from Uratex in Bacoor, Cavite. Located along Aguinaldo Highway in Panapaan, this Uratex store is always jam-packed with buyers. The staff are also very accommodating and responds quickly.
Among their products, it is my dream to buy their Premium Touch Viscoluxe Memory, a luxury kind of memory foam mattress but it’s quite expensive haha
Check out the details of this mattress here: http://www.uratex.com.ph/2011/01/18/premium-touch-viscoluxe-memory/
Soon, baby, soon
I love my cousins!
I only have a few cousins on my mom’s side of the family and most of them are teenagers and kids so they look up to me as I am the second to the oldest :p They’re so magulo yet I love them to bits
Want to meet all of them? Oh, weather you like it or not, I dedicate this post to them LOL
- Michael Alain – he is the eldest, born in 1976 by my Aunt Deedith. He’s in Middle east right now.
- Ma. Melannie – she’s in Singapore. Michael Alain’s younger sister.
- Frances Sarena – WAGAS! She’s a hopeless romantic and very, very honest.
- Audrey Jane – Shy and very intelligent.
- Israel Jericho – He’ll become a doctor for sure or engineer as he loves corpses, yucky rotten.com things and fixing everything. Would you believe he was able to revive some 30-year old Remote Control Boats from his dad’s collection? Amazing little man.
- Gian Karlo – The would be pilot in the family. Pinakamakulittt!
Aside from them, there’s my sister Saydie and brother Nep. Crazy, crazy family we have. But despite the differences and eruption of tempers, they still matter a lot to me.
Are You a Boots Person?
I am.
It’s just so happen that I am on the heavier side and living on a tropical country so wearing boots is not a good idea. How I wish I am one of those who lives in colder places so I can wear a pair with jeans or leggings, mini skirts and fur coats. Though I am not a fan of Alpinestars Tech 10 Boots, I would love to wear the knee-high leather ones
Baby Baptism Gifts
We’re planning to have Lana baptized this January 15th but with what’s happening right now, I don’t know if this will push through. Our family’s facing a lot of problems right now and rushing a special event like this is not a good idea, right?
My original plan was to have Lana registered in Rustan’s baby registry so her Ninangs won’t have a hard time in choosing the perfect baby baptism gift. Do you think this is a good idea?
