Online Shopping (again!)

The other day, I was looking for online birthday gifts for women when I came across Crocs posting on eBay.ph. The auction was about to end in a few minutes and the crocs size C8/9 was only P550! I went bidding like crazy and I won a few items from that same seller!

Uhm. Online shopping can be such a pain sometime but just thinking about the convenience and the savings I get from purchasing there makes me want to do it again and again.

Not every seller online is bogus, just be wary of the red flags on online buying.

How Safe is St. Dalfour Cream?

I dunno. I heard a lot of women gushing over these tiny bottles of wonder but it seems too good to be true. I maybe looking for ways on how to get rid of acne fast but I will not try this product. A lot claim that their complexion improved within 5 days or less on the first use and why question is: isn’t too soon? I’m afraid that the so claimed “natural product” has high mercury content  and topical steroids that accelerate the healing of the acne and whitening of the face.

If that’s the case then St. Dalfour Cream is not safe to use.

St. Dalfour cream originally came from Kuwait but since it’s release, a lot has claimed that theirs are the original ones which makes it even scarier LOL

Here is an excerpt from GMA7′s news about the banning of St. Dalfour cream because of it’s high mercury content:

SEPTEMBER 2010 UPDATE

FDA bans 5 more beauty products for high mercury content

The Food and Drug Administration has outlawed at least five beauty products from Japan and Taiwan after finding out the items contained high levels of mercury.

In a circular, the FDA authorized inspectors to seize the five products, which it described as “imminently injurious, unsafe or dangerous.”

“(These products) contain heavy metal (mercury) exceeding the allowable limit of 1 ppm (part per million). These cosmetic products therefore pose imminent danger or injury to the consuming public and the importation, selling or offering for sale of such is in direct violation of Republic Act No. 9711 or the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009,” acting FDA director Nazarita Tacandong said in FDA Circular 2010-015.

The circular was dated Aug. 31 but a copy posted on the FDA website only Wednesday.

She identified the five products as:

  • St. Dalfour Beauty Whitening Cream (Tokyo, Japan)
  • Beauty Girl Papaya & Hawthorn Essence (10 Double Whitening Speckles Removed Essence), Yudantang International – Taiwan
  • Beauty Girl Ginseng & Green Cucumber (10 Double Whitening Speckles Removed), Taiwan
  • Beauty Girl Essence Aloe Pearl (10 Double Whitening Speckles Removed Essence), Taiwan
  • Beauty Girl Olive & Sheep Essence (10 Double Whitening Speckles Removed Essence), Taiwan

Tacandong also ordered food and drug regulation officers to “seize immediately the above identified cosmetic products for custody from all outlets or establishments where they may be found.”

Likewise, she sought the assistance of all local government units and consumers in “reporting all outlets found selling the above products.” — LBG, GMANews.TV

My aunt is using it and yes I saw some changes on her face. Hell, even her black moles have lightened! How scary is that? I don’t just know what’s going to happen after she stops using St. Dalfour Cream :( Oh well, I still trust my instinct because most of the time it’s right.

Anyone here has used/are using St. Dalfour Cream? Please share your thoughts and experiences :)

Online Shopping Saved Me!

…from a very stressful shopping experience :P

Malls are jampacked and people are relentlessly buying every possible stuff they want or need these days so I dire not to go any mall unless I really need to. So how did I shop? Online!

I have several online seller friends making my shopping even more convenient. :) If given a chance I’d buy hard ware stuff like faucet, tiles and kitchen sink there :P

Customized Chucks

I am not a shoe person so having 5 chucks at my age is already a big deal for me. I got navy blue, maroon, pink, camouflage, and a rainbow design from Chuck Taylor Japan.

But now, at 30, I want to get crazy with Customized Chucks! I want because I know that it’s no longer practical for me to own even one customized Chuck Taylor with art prints :(

Here’s a design that I truly adore:

nice, ayt?

WARNING: Nikon D700 Giveaway: Celebrating 94 Proud Years Of Heritage is a Phishing Site

Yesterday, a few of my friends posted this status on their walls:

FREE NIKON D700 CAMERA, JOIN NIKON CORPATION TO CELEBRATE ITS 94 YEAR OF HERITAGE and BE A WINNER OF ONE OF THE 25000 FREE D700 CAMERAS. SIGNING UP ONLY TAKES 5 SECONDS.

Having been an online seller and buyer for several years now, I already learned to trust my instincts and until now, the saying “If it’s too good to be true then it probably is” is my mantra. I suggest that you do some research first before joining. I already joined a lot of contests online and won in some like Canon (hey, hope you can raffle off xerox phaser 8560 hehe), Garnier and Ponds to name a few. There are legit contests while there are hoaxes, so be very careful in choosing which one to join to.

John Lloyd de la Cruz of News Break Online did a little sleuthing and voila! The site is indeed a Phising Site.

So guys, do not like MD HOSSAIN FAYSAL’s page. This psycho is using Facebook’s security loop holes to gather information from you.

The details are all posted here: http://www.newsbreakonline.com/nikon-d700-giveaway-celebrating-94-proud-years-of-heritage-is-a-phishing-site/1192

Pond’s Pure White with Activated Carbon

Meet Pond’s newest product – Pond’s Pure White with Activated Carbon:

After my skin reacted differently – in a good way to various Garnier products, I told myself that I’d never use Ponds again. This is because I’d often experience skin breakout whenever I use their products. The Pond’s Pure White has activated carbon which, as we all know, is capable of eliminating all the impurities in water. The same philosophy is also applied to Pond’s Pure White, it removes all the dirt on our skin leaving it cleaner, whiter and brighter at the same time.

Aside from this, Pond’s also has a new acne scar cream, the Pond’s Flawless White Blemish Protection UV Cream – I have to get hold of this!

LF: Sticker Maker for PH Bakehouse

Where can I find stickers for my cake and cupcake boxes? I can’t afford to have my boxes customized yet so what I need now are stickers that I can stick on the boxes. The stickers will bear my bakehouse’s name, website, email address and phone numbers so clients can easily call or text me if they have inquiries.

If you know someone who prints stickers, address labels and product labels, please let me know :)

Thanks muaaah!

St. Peter Memorial Plan: Is It Practical to Get One?

As an addition to our affordable health insurance from Medicard, I’ve been meaning to get a transferable memorial plan. It sounds morbid, thus, most people are not comfortable in talking about memorial plans, more so in getting one for themselves. But come to think of it, from moving a body from the hospital to the funeral parlor to entertaining visitors with the ubiquitous biscuit and “sapin-sapin” (these days it’s catered food) to bringing them to the memorial park, you can spend anywhere from P300,000 to as much as P4 million, depending on the design of the casket, the length of interment and the burial lot, among others. For someone, who is already grieving and who may have spent a lot of money on hospital bills already, that will be both emotionally and financially draining.

Reality really bites and it’s not surprising that 7 out of 10 are has not thought of memorial plans yet. At the rate our economy is going, people prefer to mind the present and focus on buying the necessities first like food. On families like ours, every penny counts that’s why I’m still undecided on whether to get one or not.
