Pampered Momma in La Reine Nail and DaySpa
It one of those days when all I wanted to do was run away from home, pamper myself to the max and enjoy being me. Every mom I know out there would want to have this simple luxury yet I know (take it from me!) no sane mom would want to break the household budget for a day of pampering, right? Unless of course you have that extra budget. But for moms like me who knows nothing but to streeeeeeeeetch whatever there is to stretch, we always think twice about extra expenses like this.
This is the same concern that prompted Ms. Grace Barrios to put up La Reine Nail and DaySpa. They cater to moms who deserve that much needed pampering but are afraid to shell out a lot of money. Right, common moms like me!
So along with my sister Saydie of Manila Catwalk and mommy friends Iris, Levy and Olga, we visited La Reine Nail and DaySpa in Cubao

Who would have thought that there is a girl-haven like this in Cubao? The place was very cozy and in colors any girl would love — PURPLE! I am very particular with the cleanliness of salons especially spas and La Reine passed with flying colors, even the staff’s uniform were neat and they were friendly, too

Footspa = Happiness!
La Reine Nail and DaySpa offers a lot of services for your skin, nails and body suited for every budget. Their hand and feet services ranges from P50 – P200, various massages from P80 – P299, waxing from P100 – P250 (they do Brazilian waxing too!) Eyelash Extension from P200 – P400 (they did mine and it was really, really awesome!), Paraffin Treatment fromP200 – P450.

Just add P30 to get hand-painted nails like these!
The eyelash extension was a first for me but they made the experience worth it
really nice and well-trained staff.

They used No. 8 natural lashes on me.
sooo natural!
Mommies, if you need some pampering without breaking your budget, visit La Reine Nail and DaySpa in Cubao. We work so hard for our families and a we all deserve a little over P500 worth of pampering from time to time.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about being a mom, it’s to take care of myself so I can take care of my family more. This should apply to all moms, too!

After the Baby Shower and Birthday comes the Baptismal
Perhaps people are always looking for ways to celebrate. After the baby shower and birthday comes the baptismal.
Actually we still don’t have any fixed date on when Lana will be baptized. I believe December is the best date, right? She’d be 4 months by then.
Party Inspirations is one of my sister’s inspirations when it comes to party preparations. They make the best invitations, cakes and what-have-yous for parties. Check out their Facebook fan page.
Google Gravity Rocks!
I was browsing topics for a single bowl undermount sinks assignment yesterday when I came across a friend’s post on Facebook:
1) Go to Google, and type ” Google Gravity ”.
2) Click on the 1st result that appears i.e. Google Gravity
3) Wait for 2 seconds. Something cool will happen!
4) Play with it for a while.
5) Then write any word in the Google search bar and press Enter.
6) Wait and see. Something even cooler will happen.
and it was really, really, really cool! Go try it!
Home Remedy for Stretch Marks O_o
I was looking for an all-natural stretch marks remedy online and it took me days before finding a decent one. A site even directed me to pink magic reviews, gross!
So far, I found a good one – something that I would want to try:
1/2 cup virgin olive oil.
1/4 cup aloe vera gel.
liquid from 6 capsules of Vitamin E.
liquid from 4 capsules of Vitamin A.
Mix all the ingredients together in a blender. After that pour the mixture into a jar and store it in the fridge. Apply the oil externally all over the places where the stretch marks commonly appear ( abdomen, hips, thighs and breasts ).
Now that I’m 6 months pregnant, my stretch marks have started to re-appear. Hopefully this would solve my problem.
Motherhood Maternity, I love!
After being ‘confined’ at home for almost two months, I can finally go out
Going out means more maternity clothes. I was browsing the net yesterday when I came across Motherhood Maternity – a brand specializing in maternity clothing. I just got disappointed with the price as most of them were over $20 —- so price + overseas shipping, nahhh forget it.
Yesterday, I went to Imus, Cavite and visited my “cheap cabinet” as my husband calls it. It’s a store for overruns. They carry branded items such as Forever21, Aeropostale, H&M, etc. and see what I found:

Too bad they don’t have any other designs and colors for Motherhood Maternity. I should have bought a lot
Guess how much the price was? P200! less than $5! The price of this top online is $26.95
Personalized Creations, lezgoooow!
I have long been a fan of Personal Creations and browsing their website became a habit already. But since I live faraway from the US of A, my habit of window shopping just remained a habit. Until my sister who graduated this year told me that her boyfriend from Oklahoma’s coming home!
Immediately we searched for awesome gift suggestions from Personal Creations and she fell in love with the personal creations heart keychain!

See that Baby Shoes Keychain? that’s what she got for herself hihihi, she got her name engraved and her birth date. Wise choice because for one, it’s so unique and second, it’s on sale!

I have a pony at home!
No, not a real pony but a 5-year old who is very fund of kicking for fun.
Her dad got her a soccer ball to practice her muscles even when she’s at home. And with the size of our house, you guess where I would usually see that ball? it’s flying everywhere! She’s now also fond of kicking the door as it bounces back, in fact the hubby is planning to install a kick plate to avoid damaging our newly built doors.

And the one thing I hate the most? She would keep on kicking while she’s asleep! I so hate it!
Guiltless Luxury Shopping with Reebonz
Shopaholics like me are ALWAYS on a lookout for sales. Good thing, they’re almost in every mall every pay day. But you know what I hate most about these sales? Everyone knows about them and before I get there, somebody already has the item that I’ve been eyeing for so long. Wouldn’t it be better if there are private sales in Manila?
Surprisingly, there is. Thanks to Reebonz, a company that will bring us, shopaholics, into the world of private sales, often with exclusive member only deals.
Reebonz will conduct “for members only” events that would typically last for 2-3 days and once the event is done, the event and the branded items are gone for good
So what do we expect in Reebonz? of course, overstock of luxury items like:
- Prada
- Fendi
- Gucci
- Chanel
- Balenciaga

- Burberry
- Kenneth Cole
- Coach
- and more…

Here is a product that I really, really like from Bottega Veneta. It would cost me $1,980 (yes, an arm and a leg!) if I buy it directly from their site but I can get this, for like, 70% off in Reebonz. Now, no shopaholic in her right mind would say “NO” to this heaven-sent offer!

Proud Employee of Yellowduck, Ltd.
First week of March 2011 I got hired as the corporate blogger for Bling Duck, a brand of Yellowduck, Ltd. Our company’s office is based in HongKong but we get to work here as freelancers! Dunno though if we’re going to stay in Duck vacation homes when we’re there, kidding!
The pay is also good and my bosses are very supportive so I’m quite lucky, eh?
Bling Duck is a flip flop brand. It’s a trendy, seriously fun – perfect for urban professionals. It’s still to be released in the market so we’re doing everything to promote the product.
