Kitchen Ideas for Your Skin No. 2: Honey
Before popping that pronexin, consider some pimple remedies found in your kitchen first. It’s inexpensive and it’s natural of course.
Acne medication is very expensive and we all know it. It is also worth noting that harsh acne medications leaves the skin dry and if you can not sustain it, welcome back new pimples! Oftentimes they come back with revenge!
Now, on to the honey remedy. To make your pimples disappear, mix 3 tablespoons of honey with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Apply it as a spot treatment at night and rinse it off in the morning. Repeat procedure for two weeks.
Easy and cheap!
Kitchen Ideas for Your Skin No. 1: Egg Whites
Blackheads is such a common problem among teens and adults. The question “how to get rid of blackheads” is very popular on the internet.
A blackhead (medically known as an open comedo) is a yellow or blackish bump or plug on the skin. A blackhead is a type of acne vulgaris. Contrary to the common belief that it is caused by poor hygiene, blackheads are caused by excess oils that have accumulated in the sebaceous gland’s duct (wikipedia).
Of course, not everyone of us can afford expensive facial medications so here I am teaching you some ways on how to treat those pesky blackheads using ingredients from your good ol’ kitchen.
Don’t you know that you can use extra egg whites to treat your skin? Here’s how.
- Beat an egg white.
- Add 1 tsp honey.
- With a cotton swab apply on the face and leave for half an hour.
- Rinse with warm water and pat it dry.
- Rub cooking oil on your face and take a cloth and rub it off.
The last one is optional and I won’t recommend it because we use various cooking oils, unless of course you have extra-virgin cooking oil on your kitchen. But if you’re not comfortable with this, do steps 1 – 4 then rub moisturizer afterwards.
It works! trust me.
How Effective is Biguerlai Tea?
I have used a box a Biguerlai Tea back in 2004. I admit that I really lost weight after trying the first 5 bags of the tea. Why not? You’ll really pass stool every time you eat or drink something. Those days were the most uncomfortable ones because I have had to wake up at dawn to poo or rush to the nearby restrooms whenever I eat. I don’t want it to happen again. Despite the good diet pill reviews of Xenical that time, it was out of my budget. I can not spend P120 per day for my meds.
Biguerlai Slimming Tea is a herbal tea which is said to aid digestion and act against constipation, surplus fats and it’s re-accumulation.
Today, I want to try Biguerlai again. I know it wouldn’t be that hard anymore since I no longer leave home. On certain days that I’ll be going out, I’d not drink a tea.
Oh well, hope this works for me.

Strawberry Blondie Bars
I was so upset today so I decided to bake with my daughter – - – and we got mouth watering Strawberry Blondie Bars!
*** INGREDIENTS ***
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp brown sugar
3/4 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 can (300ml) condensed milk (I prefer using Marigold because it’s not too sweet)
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup strawberry jam dilluted in 2 tbsp hot water
*** HOW TO PREPARE ***
Pre-heat oven to 350F and line an 8×8″ baking pan with parchment paper.
1. In a bowl, blend flour, salt and sugar then set aside.
2. In a pan, cook butter, sugar and condensed milk over low heat for 8 minutes while mixing continuously.
Let it cool.
3. Blend in eggs, vanilla and flour in the milk mixture.
4. Pour into prepared pan and drizzle jam mixture over batter.
5. Bake for about 35 minutes or until top bounces back when touched.
it should look like this after baking:
and this, too!
Let it cool before slicing. Makes 24 bars.
Here’s a photo of my baking assistant with the ingredients
The best thing about these bars is that it’s not too sweet. The strawberry jam counters the sweetness of the sugar and condensed milk.
Happy eating!
