Ending Compromises with Kotex

The question “What’s the boldest, most daring thing you’ve done beyond your comfort zone?”  got me dumbfounded. You see, I am 31 yet I feel like 20. My heart is still young and I still want to accomplish so many things.

- I still want to take up courses in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts and Fashion Design
- I still want to travel the world
- I want to put up my own business

Achieving all these while I have 2 kids, a small business to manage and an online job to work on seem so unrealistic, so beyond my comfort zone.

Wait, is multi-tasking already counted as “going beyond the comfort zone?” I really guess yes! Because a typical housewife should only be doing household chores and wait for her husband and kids to come home. I am not like that. Because first, I am a hands-on mom, second I have a bakehouse to maintain and third, I work as a virtual assistant at night until wee hours in the morning. So am I still normal? I bet not.

Perhaps I am already so used in doing this since then.

Not daring, not bold but perhaps the most important thing I did beyond my comfort zone back then was to enroll in a full-load class while being employed full time! Just imagine being in school from 7am – 1pm and being at work from 2pm – 10pm — and my work and school were located cities apart!

Talk about being a zombie!

The best part of it? I passed all my subjects with flying colors! It was hard, yes, but it was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made ;-)

I did it :)

This Kotex entry may not win but still, it is my dream to inspire people. That if I could do it, why can’t they? I envy students nowadays who do nothing but study because during my time and at that age, I already have so much on my shoulders.

I envy moms who only wait for their husbands’ pay checks.

I envy people who need not budget.

But no, I am not envious because I am proud of who and what I have become.
